About us
Nukrafom LLC is a privately owned company established on 27th April 2011, focused on the extraction of precious metals from the tails and dumps of the ancient Kanjol silver mine and 100% owned by Silverhill Resources Ltd, Switzerland. The mining process uses a heap leach pad with cyanide leaching followed by a Merrill-Crowe zinc precipitation process. The office is located in Istiqlol town centre, previously called Taboshar. The mine site is located 17 km away near Kanjol, a tiny mountain village accessed via a rough track and 1,500 m above sea level. It contains a Merrill-Crowe factory, a heap leach pad, a secure cyanide store, a water reservoir, a security room and living accommodation. Over the past 8 years Nukrafom has built a fully functional mine site, a lovely office, achieved excellent production, and dramatically improved the livelihoods of the local populations at Kanjol and Istiqlol.
Milestones
2019 - Nukrafom started drip irrigation for winter production and achieved full production during February and March.
2018 - Nukrafom found higher grade ore and increased production to 24 hours per day, 10 months per year. This led to a higher production of silver at 2,602 kg and gold at 3.1 kg.
2017 - Nukrafom consolidated and improved all systems, increasing production to 4.0 tonnes of precipitate containing 2,077 kg of silver.
2016 - Nukrafom installed a 9 km electrical transmission line to the Kanjol mine site and achieved production of 2.8 tonnes of precipitate containing 1,611 kg of silver.
2015 - Nukrafom successfully tested all equipment and the technological process, leading to a test production of 2.6 tonnes of precipitate containing 889 kg of silver.
2014 - Nukrafom moved its office from Khujand to Istiqlol and completed all major construction of the Merrill-Crowe factory at Kanjol.
2013 - Nukrafom moved its office from Dushanbe to Khujand. Wardell Armstrong International, England, carried out a feasibility study to confirm the best process for mining the ore.
2012 - Nukrafom was granted the tails and dumps reprocessing license for the whole Kanjol deposit.
2011 - Nukrafom was formed and registered in Dushanbe.
On 12th August 2016 Nukrafom had its opening ceremony at Kanjol. The Kanjol mine site is located 17 km east of the main office at Istiqlol. Istiqlol is located 30 km north of Khujand. The company employs 62 permanent staff and 20 part-time staff and contractors.
